2016 Burlington Slam Project Team

Tomy Bewick

Tomy Bewick is a full time construction professional who has been writing and performing original works for over a decade. Having competed on national and international poetry slam stages and found himself a finalist on multiple occasions, Tomy founded the Burlington Slam Project in 2008 as a means to share the opportunities he found for himself, with others who might need, appreciate, or desire more from their art. Tomy has featured across Canada, self-published a couple books of poetry, released a few CD’s of his spoken word and continues to produce commissioned works for clients and community partners alike. In hopes that those looking will find their voice; Tomy continues to volunteer time to run writing workshops for youth in transitional housing and Burlington’s libraries. More info about his ventures can be found at www.omre.ca
